Road Damage Alert

These have already been reported to Canberra Connect and Roads ACT, but we have three spots of concern that most probably would cause an off if hit.

1.    Large Roundabout – Phillip end of Adelaide Avenue:

The Black spot treatment which is great and supported by the MRA ACT has not been effected in a motorcycle friendly fashion.  The contractors that undertook the work have left a deepish groove in the road where they ground out the old white lines.  Please when entering the roundabout from the city keep a tight line and try to avoid the milling area.

2.    Pavement damage on Northbourne Ave near Information Centre

Left lane city bound on Northbourne directly in front of the Info centre has the pavement apparently lifting and peeling leaving a sizable hole in the road.  Having been stupid enough to hit it twice (yes stupid I agree) it has the potential to cause an off if you rim it rather than hit it.  Please avoid the left city bound lane in front of the Info Centre.

3.    City Exit onto Barton highway from Gungahlin Drive when heading south.

This has been reported several hundred times according to the poor harassed young lady at Roads ACT, but about half way along the exit lane roughly in-line with the Road Works sign is a hole, about 600mm across and about 200mm deep in the centre.  You will break rims if you hit it.  Keep right when traversing the lane and you’ll avoid the bloody thing.

Remember if you see a problem with the road that is not immediately life threatening please call 132 281 and report it asap as the life you save may be your own next time round.
