Sorry for the late notice .. but….
The 1st International Motorcyclists’ Conference will take place on June 28th-29th in Brussels. The event is organised by FEMA in partnership with Canadian and Australian riders’ associations, with the support of the European Commission. The program has been finalized and is available at

The theme, “Motorcycling into the 21st Century”, will tackle key issues of the land transport sector – environment, technology and safety – offering a forum to exchange ideas, discuss challenges and offer solutions.
This Conference aims at becoming a regular event gathering politically aware motorcyclists to discuss important matters of policy affecting motorcycling.
The MEP Ride will take place alongside the Conference, on the evening of June 28th. Members of the European Parliament join the rider community for a fun and informal event around the Capital of Europe, and Shaun is also participating in this event
Australia is being represented by Shaun Lennard, who will be presenting an overview and assessment of progress with motorcycle safety in Australia, as part of a forum with rider reps from a number of countries. Shaun will provide a rider perspective on the 2009 Victorian strategic action plan in his presentation, and will be commending the Victorian strategy, but expressing concern that it’s funded through a levy on motorcycle registrations. Matt Bennett from the MA Riders Division along with Shaun have also been invited to visit the Australian ambassador, Brendan Nelson, whilst they are there.
Shaun is currently the Chairman of the Australian Motorcycle Council (AMC) and has been since 2006. The MRA ACT is a member of the AMC.
He represents AMC on the Australian Government’s Motorcycle Safety Consultative Committee, and was a workshop facilitator at 2008 OECD Workshop on Motorcycling Safety
As a member of the MSCC, Shaun was an organising committee member for the 2008 Australian Motorcycle and Scooter Safety Summit
President of Tasmanian Motorcycle Council since 2005
